Roaring Kern River thanks to this year's ample rainfall
Dim sunlight at dawn reflecting on water surface of a pond in the desert (5:47am)
The Telescope Peak from west side was covered with snow and I was not sure how far I could go.
These are charcoal kilns. I'm not sure if they are still being used.
The Telescope Peak looked deceptively close.
The last part of the trail was covered with deep snow and was impassable for me.
Old saloons in Virgnia city are still serving customers, not miners but tourists.
There was a magnificent Catholic Church in the middle of this old mining town. I was told that Irish miners brought in the church with them.
In summer time the train travels from Carson city to Virginia city.
